Dunblane's New Brewery to Shake up the Local Scene
It's not every day you hear about a brewery with a mission beyond just pouring pints. Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing Brewery, nestled in the heart of Dunblane's Duckburn Industrial Estate, is preparing to make a splash with the launch of its new taproom slated for December 21, 2024. Founded by Matty Dixon, once tied to the oil and gas fields before swapping for brewing kettles, this venture promises more than just a place to enjoy a beer. Dixon's journey took him from a London garage—where the brewery was born in 2021—all the way to Scotland, following what seems to be a passion-driven path.
The taproom is not just an ordinary pub. Planning to accommodate around 130 guests, the brewery aims to host monthly gatherings, with themes that appeal to families and their four-legged friends. One of the standout plans is the inclusion of live sports screenings, with marquee events like the Six Nations Rugby being part of the potential lineup. But that’s just the beginning. Each event will have its unique flair; the first one even centers on country music, offering a taste of the familiar alongside guest beers and alcohol-free selections.

Beyond Beer: A Socially Conscious Enterprise
Dixon's vision goes beyond just serving beer—his plans intertwine brewing with community support. He intends to employ neurodivergent individuals, creating meaningful job opportunities in an industry where diversity might not yet be the norm. And in our interconnected yet often lonely world, his 'Social Sundays' initiative aims to establish the brewery as a community hub to combat loneliness, drawing people together around the shared love of beer and camaraderie.
Looking ahead, actual brewing operations are set to kick off in early 2025. This multifaceted approach not only enriches Dunblane’s cultural landscape but also offers a blueprint for how small businesses can impact their communities positively. So, whether you’re in it for the beer, the atmosphere, or the sense of belonging, Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing Brewery seems poised to become a local favorite before you can say 'cheers!'
